Boulder Atheists wish to promote the understanding and acceptance of atheism with good deeds and public activities. Although we welcome members who wish to discuss the subject, our main goal is activism.
Boulder Atheists is a non profit organization that strives to bring you interesting and thought provoking programs while serving the community. Whether you join us at the library for our monthly meetings, at our weekly lunches, at our booth at the Boulder Creekfest, or to help us clean up our section of Baseline road, we hope that we bring value to you. Join us for Boulder Creekfest during the Memorial Day weekend (May 24 - 26, 2008). We have a booth at the festival and we will be handing out bottles of water and brochures. We tell visitors about atheism and about the Boulder Atheists. We are looking for volunteers to run the booth. If you have never been to the booth, it is a great thing to have people come up and tell us they always thought they were alone and that they didn't know that we even existed. This is an annual opportunity to reach out to the community and to offer support to local atheists. If you would like to volunteer at the booth, sign up here
We usually meet every month on the fourth Sunday of the month at the main branch of the Boulder Public library.
The meetings are held in the Boulder Creek room of the Main branch of the Boulder Public Library from 12:15pm to 1:45pm. The main branch is officially at 1000 Canyon Blvd, but the entrance on Arapahoe (near 11th street) has more parking and is closer to the Boulder Creek room.
A loyal subset of the Boulder Atheists meets and socializes for lunch every Thursday at 12:30 PM. We meet at Sol Azteca. It's on the SE corner of Iris and 28th - across from Safeway.
On April 20, 2008, about 15 members gathered on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to clean up our adopted section of road on Baseline. We got a few to stay to pose for a photo.
